No matter how exciting it is to change houses and move into a new neighborhood, moving is not the nicest experience. It is long, tiring, and moreover, boring.

However, just like cleaning your room, there is no way out of moving. But, there are ways to make the experience a lot easier, and a lot less messy. Here are some tips on ways to box your house when moving.

1. Have a Clean Out

This should definitely be the first thing you do when moving. Before you get the boxes out, first clean your house from top to bottom. Make sure you get rid of everything and anything you do not need, or use. Be brutal.

2. Go Room By Room

This is a pretty simple tip, but it is neglected by many people. It is important to start packing room by room, as it stops you from getting overwhelmed, or over packing. It keeps things organized, and makes it easier for when you have to unpack. It is best to start with the rooms you use the least, and then move to the ones you use more often.

3. First Night Box

Another thing not many people think of, is packing a box for your first day at your new place. Of course, moving is a very tiring process, and you are not going to want to unpack everything on the first day, so make sure to pack a small box with first night essentials, to help you get through, and then you can wake up fresh the next day and unpack everything else.

4. Drawer Tips

Here is a tip concerning your drawers, and even bedside tables. Instead of unpacking everything inside them, and then putting it in a box, just grab a bunch of plastic wrap, and cover the whole drawer in it tightly to prevent the draws from opening. Then, when you get to your new home, all you have to do is pull off the plastic wrap. This saves you a lot of time and energy. And boxes, of course.

5. Do Not Overpack

Yes, the tip you always receive when going on vacation comes in handy here too. Make sure you do not over pack, and put too much in one box, as it will cause a lot of problems in the future. Not only will the box be too heavy to move on your own, but also, it will probably end up breaking, and then you will have spilled contents to clean up too, which is a headache that is best avoided.

6. Use Your Clothes

When packing things like dishes, you can use your softer jackets or even your towels to protect them from breaking during the move. All you have to do is wrap a couple of soft clothes around all the glass you own, and pack them into boxes. So here you have it, some tips to help make the move easier for you, and make sure it is not as hectic as it could be.
