However, despite the hustle and bustle, it’s also a city of sparkle and wonders that you have to visit at least once in your life! If you’re planning a vacation to New York with your kids, fortunately, we’ve jotted down some of the best places to visit that offer the most exciting family-friendly activities, making your children fall for the city’s allure in no time!
1. Staten Island Ferry
This might be something you’ve heard multiple times from various tourist guides, but trust us when we say you will not regret it! First and foremost, it’s a free ferry and secondly, it takes you on an enthralling journey to admire the glistening city from above, including views of the Statue of Liberty and the New York Harbour. The ride goes on for 25 minutes, which is enough for your child to be kept in a state of wonder while gaping over the city in utter amazement!
2. One World Observatory
Sure, there are a million places to show your kids in New York, but there is a better way to do that; gaze over the city from one of the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere. Kids will get the opportunity of riding extremely fast elevators while they stand at the very top of the tallest building in the country! We’d recommend checking out the 100th floor for HD videos as well as the Sky Portal, where you get to see the city from a bird’s perspective 1,776 feet below on high tech screens.
3. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island
Though you may find these places very common, they’re actually quite interesting to visit, especially when it comes to children. Every kid has to explore these magical places at least once. There’s a children’s audio tour in the Statue of Liberty’s lobby for kids of six to ten years. While those above four feet are given the opportunity to climb to the top of the statue’s crown! Additionally, the Statue of Liberty Museum is a must-go – it’s free and has interactive galleries, explaining the history of the statue in the most interesting ways. Make sure to have your kids explore the Immigration Museum for a vivid experience of what it was like immigrating to the US at that time.
4. Central park
Cliché, we know but there’s a good reason why this place made its way onto our list. No child’s experience of exploring New York will be complete unless they unravel their true spirits and get lost in the world of glory and splendor. The most visited park in the US – the Central Park. Make sure you have your kids see the iconic carousel, located near the Dairy. Children seem the happiest on the historical ride, thus it’s the perfect opportunity for you to capture a beautiful family photo for memories.
